Our Journey
from Good to Great
A History of Life Christian Academy - Emmaus
A Vision Years in the Making
Life Christian Academy – Emmaus began as a dream in 1994 when Faith Family Church was founded. From the start, leadership felt called to build a school where academic excellence and Christian discipleship would thrive together.
When land was purchased in 2001, the future school was already part of the plan — even the building was designed with classrooms in mind. By 2013, after establishing a flourishing childcare program, it was clear that God’s timing had arrived.
Our mission was unwavering:
Create a Christ-centered school focused on individualized learning, academic strength, and spiritual growth.
We believe every child is uniquely created by God with specific gifts and purpose. Because no two students learn the same way, education should never be one-size-fits-all.
What Makes Students Thrive?
While developing our academic approach, we studied some of the most effective school systems in the world and discovered a powerful pattern:
Students excel when they are:
-
Interested in what they are learning
-
Actively discussing ideas
-
Motivated to grow
That insight shaped our commitment to building a school where students master core academics while discovering their passions and developing lifelong confidence.
The Beginning of Life Christian Academy
In 2014, Life Christian Academy opened with just one kindergarten class and a bold vision to expand into a full K–12 private Christian school.
Each year, one grade was added until we served students through 9th grade by 2022. Our classrooms were led by experienced Christian educators deeply committed to both academic excellence and discipleship.
The school was strong. Families were thriving.
But we knew God was calling us higher.
When Good Becomes Great
Even with small class sizes, traditional classroom structures made truly individualized learning difficult. We wanted more for our students — more growth, more ownership, more opportunity.
By the 2022–2023 school year, staffing changes created an unexpected turning point. What first appeared to be a challenge became clear evidence of God pruning a good school in order to grow something even greater.
A Transformational Shift:
Welcome to Emmaus
In 2023, we discovered an innovative educational model through Acton Academy, known for cultivating student initiative, responsibility, and self-directed learning.
We immediately recognized the opportunity:
Pair a proven mastery-based model with a deeply rooted Christian community.
The result was the rebirth of our school as Life Christian Academy – Emmaus.

The name Emmaus, drawn from Luke 24, reflects our heart — a place where students walk daily with Jesus, learning to recognize His presence in both their education and their lives.
A School That Feels Like Family
We intentionally relaunched Emmaus with a small group of sixteen pioneering students in July 2023, prioritizing culture before growth.
Today, students spend part of their day mastering reading, writing, and math through self-paced learning while also engaging in collaborative projects that build leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.
You’ll see something unique the moment you walk in:
Older students mentoring younger ones.
Confident learners taking ownership.
Joyful classrooms filled with purpose.
This is education as it was meant to be.
The Future is Bright
Building on over a decade of educational experience, Emmaus continues to grow stronger each year. We are expanding our programs, strengthening our Jr. High and High School experience, and enhancing our College Prep pathways with exceptional leadership.
We believe God is just getting started.
And we would love for your family to be part of the story!
